Welcome to Notre Dame School
The birth of Notre Dame School, Mysore took place in a rented room at Hinkal Village with 4 students on 25th June 1990 and was officially begun on 12th July 1990. No one then thought that a school with such a humble beginning would turn to be what it is today. Hundreds of students who passed through the portals of this fine institution sing glory to their alma mater as they have carved their own special position for themselves with the stumping start they got from it. The nursery school started under the able guidance of Sr.Shanti,SND As the school grew, the school was shifted to the Farm house in 1992, June 4th. Mrs.Flavy D’Almeida and Mrs.Anita Fernandes joined the staff as the teaching members and Mr.Kalappa as the non-teaching staff who are with us till today.
The school grew from strength to strength year after year. On July 3rd 1993, on the Feast of St.Thomas, the Apostale of India, foundation stone was laid for the new school building at Vijayanagar. The school was shifted to the Present school building on June 2nd 1995.
Principal’s Message
“I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again”. During our beautiful lifetime, we encounter varied life situations, each with a message of hope. Let us be hope-filled people amidst the turbulent times that we pass through and do well.
Manager’s Message
Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.(Mathew 5:16) When Jesus walked on the earth, these were His challenging words. Today theses words truly edify each one of us. We walk in this extraordinary time courageously, and welcome each day with its freshness, its richness and for what it brings…
Our Vision
Impelled by Jesus Christ and his mission and our rich educational heritage, we as Notre Dame Educators provide a Catholic – Christian environment of educational excellence for the transformation of individuals and society. We form persons who are skilled and committed to journey together in hope as witnesses and catalysts for the responsible care of all God’s creation and for justice and peace, especially for those on the margins of society.
Our Mission
Sisters of Notre Dame work in multiple fields in countries around the world. Though traditionally been present in the classroom, the other ministries today find them among the people of God in other areas of society. They remain involved in education but also are active in pastoral services, in health care, in hospice work and counselling, in work with the handicapped, in day cares and care for the elderly. The sisters are present in the UN and work in JPIC affiliations. They are spiritual and retreat directors. They too respond to the needs of our times.
